ANGEL IN THE PRESSURE COOKER...!!!

Friend, read this article as this is going to be an eye-opener not only for you but for many around you. An angel which must be flying all around is being confined to the kitchen area for so long and is getting tortured by us on a daily basis. Angels are made to fly but sadly, the Indians cut their wings so that they cannot fly and remain stuck in the kitchens. I am talking about the Women of India. Let’s have a look at this prevalent issue.

India is the second highest populated country in the world with approximately a population figure of 1.3 Billion. Out of the total population, 48.4% population is of the female gender and the rest belongs to the male (Acc. to the World Bank, 2016) which is very close to one half of the population. India has gained its independence in the year 1947 and in the year 2018, it is among the list of developing countries, but in today’s era, the nation developing at a very rapid pace probably better than any other developed nation of the world. We are known for our diversity, our culture and our contributions to the development of the world are countless.

One thing from the above paragraph you should observe is the time that we are taking to make the transition from developing to the developed. It has crossed a 70-year mark. During the informal discussions, we try to some of the basic reasons for our incapacity like high population size, political scenarios, etc. etc. But according to my point of view and on the basis of my research, I came to the conclusion that one of the prominent reasons for this slow speed of growth adamant backward mentality of the citizens towards Females.

I want to show some shocking facts and figures that will help you to understand that why we are still so much behind from others–

1. Out the total female population of India which is close to 62 – 63 crore (48.4%), only 4% women’s are making the contribution in the Organized Sector of India as compared to the capitalist and developed nations of the world like the United States of America where contribution in the same field range from 71% - 75% of females. [National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) Report].

2. Nobody is ready to give the employment to the women because of the fear that they will leave the job very soon because of the reasons such as Pregnancy, Marriage, Child Care, Job Pressure, etc.

3. Average Education in India given to the females is only for 1.25 Years (2011 Census Report). That means 48% of India’s population remains uneducated. I don’t think that remaining 52% male population is capable enough to make this nation developed.

4. According to the World Bank Report of 2017, Maternal Mortality Rate is highest in the Indian Nation.

5. When comes to the women workforce, India’s Rank is 120th among 131 countries of the world. One of the lowest female participation in the workforce.

Quite Shocking…!!!

These are only some percentage of facts. They are more in number. But we need to work upon it. We have to improve the conditions of women in order to improve the condition of the whole nation. Imagine if 48% talent is confined only to the kitchen area then how this nation will develop. They have a high emotional and mental strength as compared to the males and not only this, the creativity and innovation quotient is also very high in females. Every year, female success ratio in any type of examination comes better than males. Banks and financial institutions do not provide financial assistance easily to the women entrepreneurs just because they feel that the women will not be able to repay the loan in the future. If a female spends some time in the hotel for business purpose or when she meets a male client, she is seen with a negative mindset. But they have proved everyone wrong whenever the opportunity is provided to them.

Shahnaz Husain, a female entrepreneur (Founder, Chairperson, Managing Director of Shahnaz Husain Group) has created a revolution for herbal products. These products are still highly used by not only Indians but also in other nations of the world.

Indra Nooyi, Global CEO of PepsiCo is among the best CEOs of the world. She is also a prominent cabinet member of Honorary President of United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump.

Lizzat ladies of India, who have turned a Papad Business in a global phenomenon. 7 ladies of Gujarat have started a business with just Rs. 1 and now the business value is more than 1700 crore.

They are making India proud by making their contributions in the infinite number of areas. They are making their presence felt in sports, art, literature, medical, research and development, entrepreneurship and many more. It has been said that if you really want to measure the progress of any nation, simply understand the level of equality exists in that nation. If equality in both the genders exists, for sure nation will be developed or very soon going to be developed.

They are not made for cooking only. Yes, the situation has improved drastically in the recent years, but still, a lot of development is required.

The days of glory are yet to come for India.

Acche din abhi aane baaki hai mere dost…!!!

THANK YOU...
