AMAZON vs FLIPKART = 'BALLE-BALLE' of Indian Customers

Amazon and Flipkart are one of the biggest rivals in Indian Market when it comes to the E-Commerce Industry. Both are going neck to neck and trying to increase their market share in India, where if we combined Amazon’s world market share, then surely it is winning the race by a huge margin. Flipkart mostly focuses on acquiring big companies which used to be its rivals earlier such as Myntra. On the other hand, Amazon provides a wide variety of services such as Amazon Prime, Amazon Pantry, Amazon Music, etc. and many more not only in India but all around the world. But this rivalry is creating an infinite number of benefits for the customers of India.

Amazon is a global giant. It has a very large scale up E-Commerce business and Flipkart also is growing manifolds in a single day. They have a very huge business valuation. They both basically sell everything you want. Amazon sells cow dungs as well. A very big part of offline business stores is getting themselves listed on these sites in order to sell their products and services to a large audience. This gives an infinite number of options to choose from for the desired products to the Indian customers. Today, an Indian customer can compare the prices of the same product on both the websites with the help of reviews, ratings, as well as specifications. In order to retain and attract new customers, attractive offers are being offered by both Amazon and Flipkart. During the festivals, prices get cutoff to an awesome extent. Flipkart’s festival sales offer sometimes even sell a Rs.10 Thousand mobile phone on just a Single Rupee. Who would want to shop offline because of all this? I mean, it is simply getting the traditional offline market out of the market. On the other hand, they have reduced the total amount taken for the delivery of the products as well. Earlier they used to deliver the products by taking at least 2-3 days, but now Amazon Prime has changed this scenario also. Amazon Prime customers can receive the ordered product on the same day on which the order is being made. Delivery of the products will be free of cost and does not include any shipping charges what so ever with some T&C applied. Anyone can become an Amazon Prime customer by paying an annual subscription amount of just Rs. 500-1,000. Amazon Prime’s facilities do not only cover Product delivery services. An Amazon Prime customer can also avail the entertainment facilities as well, which covers TV Shows on demand, Movies on demand, etc. fully covered by the same amount.

Apart from this, in the metropolitan cities, facilities are beyond imagination. The product sometimes gets delivered within 2-3 hours from the time of making the order. What else customer will require now when an online world is replicating the offline market. Flipkart enjoys the goodwill of being an Indian E-Commerce Business site. It is equally as trustworthy as Amazon in India. With free and guaranteed return and exchange policies for the products and services, it is making its efforts count towards becoming a market leader. But, beating Amazon is a very big task for Flipkart in my opinion. It requires a very high risk and huge investment from the part of Flipkart if he really wants to become a leader in E-Commerce business in India.

Back to older days, it was being said that “CUSTOMER IS A KING of the Market”. He is the one whose needs are being fulfilled by the producers all around the world. But gradually, the statement has started to become old-fashioned and obsolete. But with the evolution of E-Commerce in India, today customers are enjoying so much of facilities that are not being enjoyed by the previous generations of the customers.

Back to the Good Old Days…!!!

Thanks & Regards
