SACRED GAMES – 6 Life Lessons We Can Learn From This Show
“Learning can be done in an infinite number
of ways” --- I’m pretty much sure that you are going to agree with me on this
assertion. Each and every phase of our life, every action teaches us something.
So, on that very basis, today I’m sharing my learning from the
Indian-Crime-Dramatic-Suspense-Thriller show - ‘SACRED GAMES – Season 1’. The show has already become a very huge
hit among the global audience. The way it is portrayed on the small screen of
Netflix, the way characters have played their role is brilliant. They all have
justified their skills and task of entertaining us to the fullest.
The show is based on the novel of the same
name published in 2006 by Vikram Chandra. The whole season 1 is divided into 8
episodes of approx. 50-55 minutes each. It is directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane and it is produced under
the banner of Phantom Films.
It all started
when Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) receives an anonymous call from the Gangster,
Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who always
remains filled with a fiery storm, informing
Sartaj about the imminent doom at Mumbai in 25 days and tells him to save the
city from this doom. Amidst the chaos, trappings of the corrupt underworld are revealed by the police officer Sartaj Singh
and in the background; it showcases the rise of the Ganesh Gaitonde in the
Mumbai’s Underworld.
Amidst all the chaotic scenes, the characters
enacted by everyone gave valuable life lessons also that I have learned by watching
this crime thriller. I felt like sharing them with all of you.
So, let me impart you the life lessons from
Sacred Games that you also can apply in order to improve the quality of your
life-
- “If you know that you can do it on your own, go and do it. Never ask for the referral, endorsement or help” --- Sartaj always knows right from the word go that he can handle and investigate on the case without the backing of his colleagues and his boss who always attempted to discourage him by showing that he is not worthy enough. In the end, he proved everyone wrong and also manages to win the confidence and the support of his same boss and colleagues.
- “If you want to achieve anything in life, develop the guts to do anything and everything to achieve it” --- Gaitonde got fall in love with the Kukkoo when he first saw her, but Kukkoo was with the other gang leaders. Gaitonde was a normal man back then, but he challenged the leader that he will crush him and want Kukkoo as the prize. He managed to beat him by hook and crook and won the Kukkoo and her love.
- "Be Relentless, Be Restless, Be a Leader” --- Sacred Games showcase a story of a normal guy who saw the most difficult times in his life right from his childhood. Gaitonde builds his own empire of a gangster in Mumbai all on his own and leads his troops with full passion. Each and every step he took was to achieve his goal of ruling the Mumbai one day. He achieved it superbly…!!!
- “Behind every successful man, there is a woman” --- You and I have heard this statement 100 of times in our lives, but personally I feel like that this show proves this statement right. 1st Kukkoo (Girlfriend of Gaitonde) and then Subhadra (Wife of Gaitonde), both have played a really important part in firing the fire of achieving success in Gaitonde.
- “Never forgot the sacrifice made by the others for you, Pay off…” --- Gaitonde chose Sartaj as his messenger and main person to block up the doomsday. He informed him only and no one else. Sartaj didn’t even know him. Gaitonde chose him because it was Sartaj’s father who helped Gaitonde in the Jail when he got arrested and thrown behind the steel bars. Sartaj’s father used to provide him the food to eat in the prison without the fear of losing his own job. Hence, in order to pay off, Gaitonde chooses Sartaj over the others.
- “Each and everything in this world teaches you something, just change the way you look at the things” --- This is the best lesson among all that I have learned after watching this amazing show. We all used to avert the negative circumstances and constantly attempt to impose the reason for our own failures on others. If you observe, then you’ll find that there is nothing in this world which doesn’t teach you anything.
“If you are not learning, you are not
living”.
This is my insight from this amazing show
called Sacred Games. I believe that this is a must watch, merely only for the
age group of 18 and above.
I am sure that #ThisWillMakeYouThink.
Thanks & Regards
Sahil Jain
